Founder

Elia

Hello, my name is Elia.

I'm 17 years old, and I spend my days looking for beautiful things. Restaurants where the food is truly exceptional, shops that make sense, places that can change your whole day.

I realized that we don't need to choose between what we love and what's right. That the two meet, often, in the same places.

DECA is here to help you discover them.

Our purpose

Our Mission

There is a life where good taste and the planet go hand in hand.
Where the best restaurant on the street is also the most ethical. Where the most beautiful shop is also the most honest. Where the most memorable journey is also the lightest. That life already exists. It is lived every day, everywhere, by those who understood something before everyone else.

DECA is here to show them.

For too long, ecology has been framed as a punishment. Numbers, sacrifices, lectures. Grey morality, exhausting injunctions, the aesthetic of a 1990s NGO. We forgot the essential: this more just world is also a more desirable world. More beautiful. More flavourful. More real.

DECA reinvents ecology.

Not by making it more serious. By making it more beautiful. Not by guilt-tripping. By celebrating. Not by theorising. By showing — one restaurant, one shop, one hotel, one journey at a time.

We believe change will come through desire, not fear. That people don't give up what they love; they shift what they love. And that there already exist, everywhere, addresses, places, people who prove you can live better while treading lighter.

DECA is their Guide. Their directory. Their stage.

One day, ecology will no longer be a topic. It will simply be the way we live. On that day, DECA will have done its job.

Until then, we list, we celebrate, we film. We reward those who lead the way. We bring together those who follow.

Think global, act local.
Welcome to DECA.

The Concept

More than a guide,
a compass.

There are thousands of directories. What's missing is someone who has really looked.

DECA offers two ways of looking at an address.

What those who've been there say

What stood out to us

The addresses that go beyond everything else — the ones we keep close.

Our Method

The 4 Pillars

We evaluate each establishment and service according to a strict technical framework:

Why DECA exists

In France, food, housing and transport together account for over 75 % of our individual carbon footprint, according to data published by ADEME. DECA is the everyday-ecology app — available in French, English and Italian — bringing together the best verified sustainable alternatives curated by our team: vegetarian and organic restaurants in France and internationally, eco-certified accommodation, second-hand shops and resource centres, and night trains in Europe. Our approach is based on reports from the IPCC and analyses from the International Energy Agency to identify the most effective levers for action.

To measure your personal impact, you can use our free carbon footprint calculator, inspired by the official Nos Gestes Climat methodology from ADEME. You will also find in our editorial blog detailed comparative analyses: for example the carbon footprint of a night train compared to a flight, or the concrete impact of second-hand fashion on the planet. All listed places are verified by our team and specialist organisations such as L214.

Discover also our practical guides on zero-waste restaurants, eco-friendly hotels, sailing crossings, and join the conversation on our community forum.

Why DECA?

So you never have to search again.

Finding a good address is easy. Finding a good address that keeps its promises is another story.

DECA does the sorting for you. We search, we visit, we verify. We only keep what's worth sharing.

So that you simply get to enjoy.
